Task Detail View Overview

The Task Detail View in Taffy Tree is where you can manage the finer details of a specific task within your project. This guide will walk you through the various features and sections available in this view.

1. Task Header

  • At the top of the page, you’ll see the project name and the task name, in this case, Add Content under the Taffy Tree Help Changes project. The header clearly identifies the task you are currently managing.
  • Task Status and Priority: On the right side, you can view and set the task’s priority (e.g., Low, Medium, High) and its current status (e.g., To Do, In Progress, Complete).
  • Task Tabs: Just below the task name, there are several tabs:
    • Task Overview: Displays the general information and progress of the task.
    • Task Documents: Access all documents related to this task.
    • Task Files: Manage files specifically tied to this task.

2. Description and Details

  • Description: This section is where you can add or view a detailed description of the task. If no description is entered, this area will be blank, as shown in the image.
  • Details: This section is meant for additional details or instructions related to the task.

3. Task Assignments

  • This box shows who is assigned to the task. Each assigned user’s profile picture is displayed, allowing you to quickly see who is responsible for completing the task.

4. Time Tracking

  • Time Entry: This section allows you to log time spent on the task. You can view the total time logged and individual time entries, making it easy to track your progress.
  • Time Slips: Clicking this will allow you to view detailed time slips associated with the task.

5. Estimate & Goal

  • This box is where you can set and view time estimates for the task:
    • Best Case: The minimum time you expect the task to take.
    • Expected: The average time you think the task will take.
    • Worst Case: The maximum time you expect the task to take.
  • No Goal Set: If no goals are set, this area will indicate that no time goals have been established.

6. Checklist

  • Subtasks: The checklist allows you to break down the main task into smaller, manageable subtasks. Each subtask can be checked off as it is completed.
  • Checklist Options: You can hide completed subtasks or view only new items using the toggle options. Additionally, you can add new subtasks or reorder them using the controls at the bottom of the checklist.

7. Task Discussion

  • Comment Box: At the bottom of the task view, you’ll find a discussion section where team members can communicate about the task. The comment box allows you to type your message and tag other users using the “@” symbol.
  • Jump to Top: This link allows you to quickly navigate to the top of the discussion thread.

Suggested Image Placement:

  • Full Task Detail View Screenshot: Place a full screenshot of the Task Detail View at the top to provide users with an overview of all the elements on the page.
  • Task Assignments and Time Tracking Close-Up: Include a close-up image of the Task Assignments and Time Tracking sections to highlight how users can manage assignments and track time.
  • Checklist and Discussion Sections: Use a close-up image of the Checklist and Task Discussion sections to demonstrate how users can break down tasks and collaborate with team members.
